Stepping into the office in a pair of heels and a dress for the first time was an experience I don't think I'll ever forget, and an important part of my journey. It was more than just a change in attire - it was a step toward embracing my true self. The initial nerves were overwhelming, but the support I received from my colleagues turned that anxiety into an empowering moment.
Working in an office with such supportive colleagues, I’ve found a space where I can express myself freely. The four women I work with have been my biggest allies. Their encouragement has helped me navigate my journey with confidence. Our conversations about fashion, makeup, and identity have been eye-opening. Sharing tips and receiving feedback from them has made me feel not just accepted, but celebrated. It's a unique dynamic, one that has transformed my work experience into a daily affirmation of who I am.
My outfits have become a topic of interest and excitement in the office. I gradually became more and more feminine in what I wore, and with a touch of make up and sometimes clear nail polish. Then on the first day I went fully femme, I wore this outfit. The simple colours and delicate fabric made me feel lively and confident. Pairing it with black tights and a comfortable yet chic pair of heeled knee length boots, I felt ready to conquer the world. My makeup was subtle but flattering I hope—just enough to enhance my features without feeling overdone. A touch of mascara, a hint of blush, and a nude lipstick completed the look. With make up, mum tought me that less is more.
The funny thing is, my jacket is a steve jacket - it's a man's jacket! I think it sets the outfit off nicely though and it really goes with my dress and my boots.
Hopefully I look every inch the professional woman - nobody in the office complimented me, but I felt good :)
